Day 6 - Gratitude is the Best Attitude

"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough." —Melodie Beatty

Gratitude is an attitude and way of living that has been shown to have many benefits in terms of health, happiness, satisfaction with life, and the way we relate to others.

Natural Walking is the first step to being grateful for our body. We tend to take our body for granted, we use and abuse our body for our purposes. This is why we often find ourselves unable to be at peace with our body.

Talk the Talk, Walk the Walk

How many of us would passionately nod in unison agreeing that our body is an amazing organism and we even feel and believe that we are Grateful for our eyes, teeth, arms, legs, bodies, mind etc. But are we just talking the talk?

In Secrets of Natural Walking, we leant about how are bodies come packed full of amazing healing and rejuvenation abilities and all we have to do, is to allow it to happen. It only takes an hour of our day to let this most beautiful gift return to its natural state of harmony. In this light, practicing SONW is the real expression of our gratitude for our body. To allow it to begin functioning the way it was originally designed because we realize how amazing our body really is.

In reality though, we personally often practice SONW with strange attitudes. Sometimes we do it to earn brownie points, sometimes half begrudgingly as if we’re doing someone else a favor, sometimes we practice as a direct expression of our lack of gratitude and with a desire for SONW to fix what we don’t like….You get the picture – I talk a good game but it is not reflected in my real life attitude.

But wait, there’s more. How about the way we nourish our body? Who wins the battle between convenience and making good food choices, as an expression of our gratitude?

Do you brush your teeth and wash your hair because you’d stink otherwise or could you keep your body clean as an expression of your gratitude? Do you go to sleep because it feels soooo goooood or, you know it, letting your body rest and recharge as an expression of your gratitude?

During this 21 day challenge, remind yourself and each other as to why you are walking or doing some of the daily mundane up-keep activities and see how remembering that little word Gratitude can change how you carry it out.

How does Natural Walking help us to be more grateful for our body?

Natural Walking nurtures our body to neutralize negative effects that we put on our body in our day to day life. These negative effects range from eating unhealthy food, being exposed to an unnatural or harmful environment, stress, negative emotions or thoughts towards others or situations, bad posture and spending too much time on gadgets /phones. These negative effects generally make us less grateful not just to our body but everyone and everything else around us.

Putting aside time to practice Natural Walking is being grateful for your body 'in action' this is the time you allow your body to regenerate, rejuvenate and replenish itself by removing the stress and holding we ourselves place on our body. The Natural Walking natural methodology allows you to let go all the holding, giving your body a well-deserved break from all the busy-ness. A simple 6 key formula goes deeper in every level of Natural Walking allowing you to connect to your body to find the ultimate gratitude for true joy and happiness.
